Trail Projects for Summer 2012

August 2nd-7th, Wed–TuesUpper Red Lodge Creek Trail Camp

We will be rerouting a section of trail--cutting new trail and restoring the old on the Red Lodge Creek Plateau. Using the Senia Creek trailhead from the West Fork (Rock Creek) road out of Red Lodge, we’ll be travelling 3.5 miles up the trail to the worksite at 9500-10,000 feet at one of the truly beautiful vistas in the Wilderness. We will set up camp just below treeline in the high country near the work site.  The Forest Service will help us by hauling in our tools, equipment, and supplies with a horse team, so you only need to hike in some of your personal gear and be willing to camp in the backcountry for multiple nights.  Meals will be provided. Group camping equipment will also be provided.  You will need to provide your own tent and personal camping equipment.  The multi-day work should be hugely satisfying, and it's a great excuse to get into the backcountry with others for a great cause.
