We are big fans of the Wilderness Panels that have graced our Trailheads into the A-B Wilderness for the past 20+ years. They are an attractive reminder, full of important information, of the wild country beyond.
Unfortunately, many of the signs have faded, been shot up (particularly the Grizzly panel…), or have been vandalized or lost.
The ABWF received a sizeable grant to replace many of these signs this summer. We will be helping the Custer Gallatin National Forest replace these signs by the fall of 2017. Keep an eye out for them, and take the time to read and appreciate them.
