The Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Foundation is excited to be hosting an event for National Trails Day on Saturday, June 5, 2021! National Trails Day is a nationwide effort sponsored by the American Hiking Society, and ABWF’s event will be a perfect fit as it will empower a new cohort of Wilderness Stewards to deliver much needed educational outreach to help alleviate visitor impacts, while also providing an opportunity for participants to get outside with ABWF staff on some of the A-B’s most scenic trails!

The event will begin Saturday morning in Roscoe, Montana, with a 2-hour Trail Ambassador training session. Later that afternoon, we will head up the road to the East Rosebud Trailhead to hike on the famous “Beaten Path” trail to Elk Lake and/or up the Froze-to-Death Plateau trail to Phantom Lake, chatting about wilderness conservation issues and successful visitor outreach techniques along the way. Please see the schedule below for locations, times, and details.
