YELLOWSTONE VALLEY GIVES
Join ABWF during Yellowstone Valley Gives to share in the spirit of reciprocity and give back to the Beartooths that provide so much for us all. In 2025, our surrogate “climbers” are both headed to the summit of Granite Peak as they inspire their community in a “friendly” race to be the first to raise $12,800 for wilderness stewardship–Maddison representing the Yellowstone Valley from the east and Herman representing the Gallatin Valley from the west. Which community can prove they love The AB more? Stay tuned for information on upcoming donor events and traditional skills demos at The Base Camp, 1730 Grand Ave.

GIVE BIG GALLATIN VALLEY

National Trails Day©
Celebrate access to public lands with ABWF and our sister-org Beartooth Trails during National Trails Day® . As one of the first trail to open up in the spring, and heavily impacted by the Robertson Draw Fire (2021), the Face-of-the-Mtn Trail #7 always needs some love to get ready for a busy season ahead. The work will range from removing brush and trees, clearing drains, to identifying and pulling weeds. Climbing up the "face" of Mt Maurice, Red Lodge's local mountain, the first three miles of the trail follow the historic original path of the Beartooth Highway. In 1919, the road was surveyed and began, but soon lost funding (the road was called the Black and White Trail). The project was abandoned and in 1932 construction of the current Beartooth Highway began.

Livingston Peak Weed Pull
Progress takes time on the landscape–and we are seeing it! Jump back in with us on this multi-year weed treatment at Livingston Peak. This project is a collaboration between ABWF, Park County Environmental Council (PCEC), and the Livingston Bike Club (LBC). We will spend the day together coming to know local flora–invasive and non-invasive–while assisting in creating a regenerative habitat along this lovely mountainside. Smile each day at Livingston Peak this year knowing that you and your community played a role in keeping our mountains wild.

Public Lands Day
Public Lands need us now more than ever. We will be doing stewardship work at the popular Suce Creek Trailhead near Livingston, MT. Three multi-use trails emerge from one trailhead (including two into the Wilderness) to provide a wide variety of interesting work to keep our dedicated volunteers busy. Register anytime and we will send friendly reminders as the fall approaches.
