Wilderness Education

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Educating individuals and communities about the importance of wilderness is at the core of what we do.

From naturalist hikes to community events to our popular Trail Ambassador program, ABWF is committed to connecting folks with the information and insight they need to appreciate, respect, and connect with the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Each summer, we host a number of educational hikes and skills training designed to introduce participants to the natural and cultural wonders of The AB while stretching your legs on one of The AB’s treasured landscapes. Keep an eye on our events page for hikes with naturalists, botanists, biologists, geologists, and more. In addition to educational hikes and traditional skills seminars, we sponsor educational talks, events, webinars, and other community events. Keep an eye on the events page for those as well.
