Welcome to the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Foundation Blog!
We are thrilled to introduce the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Foundation (ABWF) Blog—a space where stories of stewardship, adventure, and a shared commitment to the land come to life.
More than just a blog, this is a celebration of the values that make the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness so extraordinary: wildness, resilience, and the millennia-old relationship between people and the landscapes we cherish and rely upon.
At ABWF, our mission is to connect people to the spectacular Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness while safeguarding sustainable trails, vital wildlife habitat, pristine waters, awe-inspiring landscapes, and moments of peace and connection. Through programs like Trail Ambassadors, volunteer trail projects, and educational outreach, we educate and empower communities to care for one of Montana and Wyoming’s most extraordinary natural treasures.
This blog is your go-to source for exploring how we can honor this covenant of reciprocity together. Here, you’ll find inspiring stories from the field, tips for enjoying the wilderness responsibly, updates on stewardship efforts, volunteer opportunities, and insights into the challenges and triumphs of protecting public lands. Expect interviews with volunteers and experts, profiles of the region’s flora and fauna, and spotlights on the breathtaking trails, peaks, and lakes that define "The AB."
Join us in this vital exchange—giving back to the wilderness as it gives so much to us. Together, we can ensure the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness remains a treasure for generations to come.
Welcome to the adventure—stay tuned for our first feature story soon!
Onward,
